Memphis Gold Band – Born Chester Chandler in Memphis Tennessee. By the
age of 4, his father had introduced Memphis to the guitar. He started playing his guitar
on world famous Beale Street at the age of 8 and by the time he was 14, he had already
played in two bands. It was in Memphis he had the opportunity to perform with local greats
such as J.J. Blues, The Fieldstones, Little Milton, Albert King, B.B. King, Carla and
Rufus Thomas. Since moving to Washington DC in 1992, Memphis has shared the stage with
Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Temptations and Debra Coleman at the Walnut Creek
Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC.
