Reggie Wayne Morris
Bluesman Reggie Wayne Morris has such a unique style, he's coined his own
term to describe it: "Primal Blues." "It's raw. I do a lot of
standards, but I do them in my own style. You can hear a touch of a little bit of
everybody in it, from Chicago to Louisiana to a little bit of the Delta." The
power trio of Morris covers "anybody from Robert Johnson to Jimi Hendrix".
"Every once in a while I'll hire a piano player and I'll pick up a horn
section." Most of the show consists of cover songs, but the group also performs
originals. Morris, who has been performing professionally for about six years, has
been interested in blues music for more than 20 years. A self-taught musician, he
was introduced to the style through an uncle. "It's part of my heritage,
audiences can expect the real deal, four hours of foot-stomping, boogie-woogie upbeat, low
down blues."
